Dear Uber engineer:
Could you please make a separate version of the app for privacy conscious? For example, you claim: “take pictures and videos — We need access to the camera feature to let you use your phone’s camera to scan your credit card instead of manually typing in your payment information. " Look, I do not have a problem typing that stuff in*, please leave my camera alone? Same applies to all the non-essential “convenience" features. “He who would trade privacy for some minuscule convenience, deserves neither privacy nor convenience." — Almost Ben Franklin.
Can you please concentrate on that damn “please re-enter your card information" (despite the fact that my all my cards and ID card and all were manually verified 3 times over by now) bug already? I’ve been unable to use Uber for a month by now. If you need help debugging, send me a reddit message (I’m a developer myself).
(* not to mention that getting the credit card properly aligned and lit to it get recognized takes more time than actually typing the number in. Or, if the VISA/MC logo is plastered over with a sticker, the card doesn’t get recognized at all, despite the fact that the first digit of card number uniquely identifies it: 3 = Amex, 4 = Visa, 5 = MC, 6 = Discover.)
